Barbara Marie Szczepanski

Barbara Szczepanski , Age 81, of Highland, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2023. She was in the loving care of Agape Hospice in Charleston, South Carolina. She is preceded in death by her husband Jerome Szczepanski, Brother’s James Jamrosz and Donald Jamrosz, and her mother Mary Jamrosz.

She is survived by her Daughter’s Renee Szczepanski of Charleston, SC, and Teresa (Daniel) Norrell of Carrollton, Texas. She has two beloved Grandson’s, Branden and Matthew Norrell of Carrollton Texas.

Barbara was born on July 30, 1941. She grew up in Whiting Indiana, working as a Nurses Aide before she was married. She was an active member of WOWS Group, where she developed strong friendships. She also was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Highland.

Barbara was an avid walker. You would often find her walking the trails at Wicker Park with her friend Gary. She also traveled on bus tours with her daughter Renee, going to Maine, South Dakota, and even El Paso, Texas to visit her grandson while he was in the Army. She also enjoyed visiting with the kitties at Humane Indiana, often cuddling them with her love.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 1:00-4:00 pm at Kuiper Funeral Home. (9039 Kleinman Road; Highland, IN 46322). Visitation will resume at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (3025 Highway Ave.; Highland, IN 46322) on Monday, May 21, 2023 from 10:00 am until time of her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. She will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City.
