Betty Chambers Carpenter

Betty M. Carpenter “Granny” age 86 of Griffith, IN passed away February 1, 2014. She is survived by son, Lloyd Carpenter JR; four daughters: Susan (Robert) Evans, Christina (David) Bailey, Laura (Ronald) Jordan, Dona Carpenter; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Carol) Chambers; special niece, Joan (Joe) Asche; and many other nieces and nephews . Preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; infant son, John; grandson, Corey Evans; parents: Howard and Rose; two brothers: Donald and Howard; one sister, Barbara. Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 4, 2014; 10:00 AM at Kuiper Funeral Home 9039 Kleinman Rd. ( two blocks south of Ridge Rd.) Highland, IN Rev. Recinda Burns officiating. Burial Chapel Lawn Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Monday February 3, 2014 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Betty loved to sew, read and travel. After working for 45 years as a nurse, she retired from the medical profession. She was a wonder mom and she will be dearly missed. In lieu of flower memorial donations to Hospice of the Calumet Area.
