Carol S. Kender Byrd

Carol S. Byrd (nee Kender) age 73, of Lowell passed away Monday, September 23, 2013. Carol is survived by husband Dorsey; four children, Laura (Don) Wilson, Suzanne Smith, Nanette (Tim) Post, and David Byrd; fourteen grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Barb) Kender and Ken (Laurie) Kender; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother, Elmer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11 AM at Bethel Church of Cedar Lake, 13620 Wicker Ave. Cedar Lake and officiated by Pastor Gary Butler. Burial will take place in Leaf River Cemetery in Mississippi. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, September 27 from 2-8 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland. Carol loved to play the organ for church services, weddings, and she enjoyed music. She enjoyed bowling and was the secretary of Bowling “Double II” of the Greater Calumet Area.
