
Carrie L. Wilson (nee Seymore), age 75, of Merrillville, IN, passed away on July 27, 2026. She is survived by her children, Jessica (Jacob) D'Andrea and Deric (Julie) Wilson; grandchildren, Callie (Ryan) D'Andrea-Adams, Bryce D'Andrea, Madeline D'Andrea, Kylie Jo Wilson, Reygann Wilson, Lynnzie D'Andrea, and Brody Wilson; sisters, Susan Netecke and Carla Hicks; and several other family members. Carrie was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Mark D. Wilson; her father, Carl E. Seymore; her mother, Mary M. Seymore; and her brother, Brady Seymore.
A celebration of life will be held at Dyer Baptist Church, located at 735 213th St, Dyer, IN, on Saturday, August 1, 2026, with memorial visitation from 9:30am - 11:30am and a service immediately following. Carrie's final resting place will be Chapel Lawn Cemetery, located at 8178 Cline Ave, Crown Point, IN, 46307.
Above all else, Carrie cherished being a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud Mamaw-roles she considered her greatest accomplishment and life's greatest blessing. She learned to care for others while raising her siblings after her parents passed away. She faithfully served the Lord in countless ways, teaching Sunday school, caring for little ones in the church nursery, and quietly helping behind the scenes wherever she was needed. She found joy in floral arranging, crafting, and creating beauty for others. Carrie was also known for her incredible baking, especially her homemade cookies and pies, which became treasured favorites among family and friends. Alongside her beloved husband, she proudly served with the Indiana Patriot Guard, honoring those who served our country. Carrie's life was a beautiful reflection of humble service, unwavering faith, and unconditional love, and her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
