David L. Ridenour Hammond, IN / Ocala, FL / Belleview, FL – David L. Ridenour age 90 of Ocala, FL, passed away Monday, November 12, 2018 at Community Hospital, Munster, IN. He is survived by his wife of 69 Years Beulah M. Ridenour, daughter Glenna (Dan) Chapman and son David M. Ridenour. Two granddaughters Angela (Jeff) Hands and Monica (Jeff) Slaven. Greatgrandchildren Nathan (Cori) Rarick, Kayla Hands and Katie Hands. Step grandchildren David (Cindy) Chapman and Rebecca (Matthew) Kayser. Step great grandchildren Chloe and Elijah Chapman, Noa, Adia, Elah and Ezra Kayser. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Ryan of Deadwood, South Dakota, and sisters-in-law Anieta Mull, Janice (Ronnie) Brown, and Bonita (Steve) Chastain. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles H. and Lillian Ridenour, brother Charles and sister Sarah Barrow, daughter in law, Shirley Ridenour, and brothers-in-law Emment (Martha) Mull, Boyd (Charlene) Mull, Ferris Mull, and Jack (Bonnie) Mull. Mr. Ridenour worked for the USDA as a Food and Meat Inspector for 32 years and retired in 1985. He resided in Florida for the last 33 years. He was a member of Ocala Christian Church and veteran of the US Navy Reserve during World War II. Mr. Ridenour was a member of Scottsburg, Indiana, Masonic Lodge #272 since 1953 and The American Legion, Allied Post 369, in East Chicago, Indiana since 1982. Memorial funeral services will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. at South Side Christian Church, 1000 Broadmoor Ave., Munster, IN 46321, Mr. Ridenour was cremated and will be interred later in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at South Side Christian Church from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, American Legion Child Welfare Foundation, South Side Christian Church, or Ocala Christian Church.
