Denise L Scoggins Wiggins

Denise Wiggins, age 59, of Griffith, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, September 20, 2012, after a short battle with cancer. Denise, born in Cincinnati, OH on November 20, 1952, joins her parents Denver and Bea (Upton) Scoggins in Heaven along with the love of her life, husband, Larry Wiggins. She is survived by her daughters: Lisa (Bob) Price, Amee (Shawn) Liptak and Bethany (Wally Kolodziej) Wiggins; and the absolute joys of her life, her grandchildren: Keyanna (15) and Nathan (11) Liptak and Emmalee (8) Carrier. Also surviving are her siblings: Sandy Mahaffee, Diahanne (Cory) Harrington, Donna (Danny) Clark, and Josh (Kathy) Scoggins; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 24, 2012, at Village Church, 14849 93rd Ave., Dyer, IN with Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Interment at Memory Lane Cemetery, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road), Highland, IN 46322. There will also be visitation on Monday morning from 9:30am until time of service at the church. Denise was employed by School City of Hammond as a Secretary. She knew joy and the joy of the Lord truly was her strength (Ps. 28:7). She experienced joy by spending time loving the people in her life, especially time spent with her grandchildren. She expressed joy by serving in her church either in AWANA, as she did faithfully for over 25 years, or by working in the nursery caring for other’s treasures. She loved and was loved! “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13. Denise’s life was full and she wouldn’t have changed a thing!
