

DOROTHY IMBOREK (NEE KOVACH) HIGHLAND, IN Dorothy Imborek (nee Kovach), age 90, of Highland was born February 5, 1921 and passed away Friday, October 21, 2011. She is survived by her son, Robert (Robbie) Imborek of Schererville; two grandchildren: Katherine (Paula Boback) Imborek of Iowa City, IA and Joshua (Fiancee, Natalie Pohlmann) Imborek of Davenport, IA; two great grandchildren: Parker and William Imborek Boback, both of Iowa City, IA; brother, John Kovach of Valparaiso; son-in-law, Edmond Baker of Schererville; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, her caregiver for the last several years, Vonna Black, whose loving care and devotion was so very much appreciated. Preceded in death in 1995 by her husband of 57 years, Edward whom she married in 1938; daughter, Patricia Baker; and parents: Steven and Barbara Kovach. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 9:30 AM at Kuiper Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, 9640 Kennedy Ave., Highland, IN with Rev. Keith Virus officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN. A prayer service will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Dorothy was born in the "Harbor", moved to Hammond as an adult and lived there for 50 years. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena until 1999, when she moved to Highland and became a member of St. James. Dorothy was formerly employed at the A&P Grocery Store in Hammond. She loved to crochet and her greatest pleasure was playing with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's loving memory to a charity of your choice .
