April 10, 1956June 2, 2020

Eligarda “Gigi” Hartnett age 64 passed away peacefully at Community Hospital in Munster Indiana on Tuesday June 2, 2020. Gigi was born April 10, 1956, on the island of Leyte in the Philippines. Anyone who knew Gigi knew that she loved to cook and would never let you go hungry. If you came to her house you were leaving with a full belly. She had an outgoing and tenacious personality that would infect others around her and she was always wearing a smile no matter what was happening around her. Gigi loved her family fiercely and she was loved back with the same intensity by those who were close to her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. My beautiful wonderful mama, and I was her mija,,,i miss you more than words can say. I will be checking up on papa, like i know you would've instructed me to do. I will never forget your giving spirit and your unconditional love for me. You were there to feed me, comfort me, listen to me, and cry with me. I love you so much, and there will be a constant void in my life, that you hold. I know you are safe and at peace, with no pain, and with all of our friends that had went before you. I will feel your spirit at the September bike run, where i know you will be right at the front, for the start your engines. I love you my friend, RIH

I met Gigi through my uncle, Jimbo, a long time ago. They were very close friends; she always laughed & talked about how he ate some of her M&M collection one night!
Gigi was an amazing, caring woman. She was always so generous. She gifted my son & me with something every time we saw her (a stuffed Harley hog & she said “it look like Jimbo! Hahaaaa!”, jackets, mementos, games, anything!).
I’m sad that I hadn’t seen Gigi in quite a while. It hurts just a bit more. I missed you already, now I’ll miss you even more.
TOOS TOOS! 💖

Gigi was a kind and caring woman who greeted everyone with a hug and a smile. She cared deeply for her family and her grandchildren most of all. It was always a treat being able to spend any amount of time with her. I am sure she is organizing a huge buffet as I type, for those who greeted her at the pearly gates.
