Helen Marie Gerka Jarmakowicz

HELEN MARIE JARMAKOWICZ (NEE GERKA) GRIFFITH, IN, age 91, of Griffith passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Helen is survived by two sons: Ted Jarmakowicz and Jeff Jarmakowicz; two daughters: Lynda Tobolski and Nancy (Jay) Shelton; grandchildren: Sherri, Jim, Katelyn and Erik; great grandchildren: Nikolas, Sydney, Jason, and Colin. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Jarmakowicz. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Theodore Mens, will be held DIRECTLY at St. Mary Church, 525 Broad Street, Griffith on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Calumet City. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland (two blocks south of Ridge Road). A prayer service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Helen was a member of St. Mary Church in Griffith. She owned, along with her sister Anna Gerka, "The Seventeen Shop" in Griffith.
