Jack Augustine Daniel; (you probably knew him as “Jack, JD, Dad, Papa etc..”) was taken to Heaven and placed in the arms of God by his Angle (Luke 16:22); on Friday, 21 December 2018 at the age of 88. He is survived by his adoring wife of 61 years Rowena Carter (Daniel). His spirit is carried on by his three children Bill Daniel, Denise Bistrican and Jala Daniel along with five grandchildren; Heidi Daniel, Amy Daniel, Teralyn Rogina, Lauren Bistrican, Brendon Bistrican and Autumn Daniel; three Great, Great Grandchildren; Adyson Daniel, Aydon Biston and Brycen Thibodeau, in addition to an extended family of relations, Church Brothers and Sisters in Christ as well as friends from every walk of life including his best friend and daily blessing; Billy Joe and Sally Frazier. Jack was born in McHenry and grew up in Centertown Kentucky during the Great Depression. The Son of Arvil Daniel and Alma Porter; the youngest of three siblings; Joyce Daniel (Coleman) and Billy M. Daniel. Jack was a High School Basketball Player and Graduate of Centertown Highschool Class of 1948, Veteran of United States Army; 101st Airborne Division 1948-1952, Graduate of Moody Institute in Chicago, Illinois and a retiree of Lever Brothers (Unilever) in Whiting Indiana. He was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Southern Baptist Convention. He was also a fervent University of Kentucky, Chicago Bull’s, Boston Celtics and Golden State Warrior Basketball Fan. He loved to watch fellow Hoosier Larry Bird, as well as MJ and Stephen Curry to name a just a few. A lifelong devoted Christian (John 3:16, Matthew 28:19, Matthew 25:31-46). Who Loved and witnessed salvation through Jesus Christ to everyone he met throughout his entire life on this earth. He was a Member of First Southern Baptist Church of Hammond and Orchard Drive Baptist Church in Hessville Indiana for over 68 Years. His Love and heart felt compassion for everyone’s well-being and spiritual relationship to God was his life’s work. Jack would say; Did you tell them about Jesus? He would “Witness to the Men” that lived under the Bridges in East Chicago, individuals in prison, those on parole, cognitively challenged, in nursing homes, at the pharmacy, while having his car repaired, grocery store, the hospitalized and the dying” Who did you tell about the Lord today? When the Lord finally called, him home, he met him with the faith of salvation, joy and in the promise of what lies ahead. Isaiah 41:10; Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will give you strength, and for sure I will help you. Yes, I will hold you up with My right hand that is right and good.
