Mr. James Jimmy A. Diehl Sr.

JAMES A. DIEHL, SR. HIGHLAND, IN James A. Diehl, Sr., age 75, of Highland passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010. He is survived by his wife Alma of 53 1/2 years; one daughter, Brenda Lee (Mike) Bondi of Hobart; son, Jim "Butch" (Penny) Diehl of Rensselaer; four grandchildren: Anthony (Beth) Bondi of Lake Station, Rachel (Lindal) Hairston of Hobart, Amanda Diehl of Demotte, and Joshua Diehl of Demotte; three great grandchildren: Anthony Jr., Tommy, and Gabriel; five sisters: Margaret (Ed) Stephens of Hammond, Virginia Mittelsdorf of VA, Edna (John) Rattray of Schererville, Christine (Carl) Higgens of Chesterton, and Betty Jane (Tom) Fite of Gary; two brothers: Frank (Judy) Diehl of Hebron and Dan (Andrea) Diehl of Gary; one sister in law, Sharon Diehl of AZ. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home and Chapel with Rev. Peter Oh officiating. Burial at Calumet Park. Friends are invited to meet with the family Monday, April 19, 2010 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman (2 blocks south of Ridge Rd.), Highland. James was a member of Beacon Light Reformed Church, a former Longfellow Little League Coach and retired from LTV and ACME Steel Companies. Memorials may be given to the Beacon Light Reformed Church.
