

JAMES "BUD" W. LIVINGSTON SR. HAMMOND, IN James "Bud" W. Livingston Sr. passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on December 21, 2012 after a courageous fight with prostate cancer and kidney failure. He was 88. Mr. Livingston was a resident of Hammond and had retired from Inland Steel in 1977. Mr. Livingston was born on August 10, 1924 in Clarksville, Arkansas to Sally Eichenberger and Gurley Livingston. He was a Navy Seabee with the 118th Construction Battalion during WWII, an active member of the Model A Restorers Club of Highland, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Garfield Masonic Lodge #569, the Orak Shrine, the Order of the Eastern Star, as well as a member of First Baptist Church of Griffith. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Helen Marie (nee Kranker); son, Major James Livingston Jr. USAF Retired; daughter-in-law, Connie of Dayton, OH; granddaughters: Heather Livingston of Ann Arbor, MI and Erin Livingston Ross of Kettering, OH; one brother, Jack; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert; and one sister, Jean. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. (with a Masonic Lodge service at 6:30 p.m.) on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd. ( two blocks south of Ridge Rd.) Highland, IN. Funeral service will be held December 27, 10:00 AM at Kuiper Funeral Home with Brother Dr. Scott Hobbs officiating.
