Jean Barbara Jones

Jean is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years David B. Jones.

Jean is survived by her children Diane Anderson of Union Pier, MI, Daniel Hussey (Judy) of Naples, FL, Michael Hussey (Maggie) of Woodbury, MN, grandchildren Madeline Anderson (Diane), Marissa and Miles Hussey (Michael), sister Pat in Phoenix, AZ.

Jean was born July 8, 1934 in Hammond, Indiana to William and Margaret Cochrane. Jean worked as a telephone operator for Indiana Bell, customer service at Holiday Inn Hammond, community relations for a multi-store McDonald’s franchise owner, then various customer service roles where she could enjoy her favorite things: meeting people, making them feel welcome, and putting a smile on their face. Jean was an expert at growing things (orchids her favorite flower) and enjoyed her extensive gardens and participating in the Illinois Orchid Society. Jean loved spending time with her grandchildren, weekend road trips, and any opportunity to socialize with family and friends. Jean and David were parishioners at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Highland.

Jean and David were inseparable in their time together, one rarely without the other. Their love and devotion to one another is an example.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, December 12 at Kuiper Funeral Home at 9039 Kleinman Avenue in Highland, IN from 11am-1pm. A 1pm service is scheduled immediately after with a graveside service to follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery where Jean will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband David. Pastor David Adams from Gloria Dei will officiate and Jean and David’s longtime companion care friend Sheila Jones will sing. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jean's life.
