Jimmie Joe Hedrick, age 83, passed away June 22, 2014. Preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Kyla Hedrick; his loving parents: Andrew and Helen Hedrick. Survived by children: Maureen (Don W.) Scheeringa, Jimmie (Kelley Hugus) Hedrick, Jolene Hedrick; grandchildren: Jennifer Lindsey (Brian) Willis, Eric (Monica) Lindsey, Jimmie (Mandy) Hedrick, Joshua (Liz) Sherbit, Justin Hedrick, Jeremy Hedrick, Jessica (Shawn Hawkins) Sherbit, Jacob Boender, Matthew Scheerringa (Jessica Toyne); great grandchildren: Addison, Cole, Luke, Olivia, Eli, Kylah, Myles, Lennon Joy, Casandra, James, Jeremiah, (J.J.); brother: Paul (Sharon) and Frank (Shirley) Hedrick; sisters: Mary Sue (late Johnny) Bryant, Barbara (late Joe) Stout; and numerous loving nieces and nephews extended family and friends. Preceded in death by brother, Bob (Shirley) Hedrick; niece, Sue Ellen Gentry; nephew, John Bryant; in-laws: Robert and Elizabeth Schell. Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 25, 2014 at 9:30 AM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd. (two blocks south of Ridge Rd.), Highland, IN with Shawn Cornett, Minister, officiating. Burial Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday June 24, 2014 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Jimmie proudly served in the Korean War. Retired from Inland Steel after 40 years of service. Member of the VFW Post 2244 for over 50 years. Member of Griffith Lodge No. 735 for 50 years who will hold service a Tuesday evening.
