She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ivan Moss, who passed away in May 2025. Together, they raised five children and shared 67 years of marriage, building a life centered around family and caring for one another.
Joanne found her greatest joy in time spent with family. Whether enjoying cherished family gatherings and holidays, heading out on an adventure, or sharing an ordinary afternoon together, she treasured these times with those she loved. She loved being part of it all. She found happiness in making others happy and had a way of making even the simplest moments feel special.
Joanne spent much of her life as a devoted stay-at-home mother. She was often on the go, running errands, shopping, or finding things to do. She loved her coffee, especially at Top Notch, her favorite restaurant. She was blessed to spend nearly her entire adult life in a school pickup line or on a field trip, and she wouldn't have had it any other way.
Joanne had a special place in her heart for children and animals. She especially adored babies and was happiest when she had a little one to care for. She spoiled her pets, and her love extended to animals of all kinds, including the wildlife outside, which she made sure was always fed and cared for.
Her Catholic faith was important to her, and attending Mass was something she treasured.
Joanne is survived by her five children: Sandra (Thomas) Hoffman, Cynthia (Nick) Admave, James (Deb) Moss, Kenneth (Anita) Moss, and Ronald (Ellen) Moss; her eleven grandchildren, Megan, Christine, Joseph, Erin, Jim, Jeremy, Elijah, Steven, Ashley, Benjamin, and Alex; and her growing family of great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to come together to remember, honor, and celebrate Joanne’s life on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, Indiana 46322. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, 3025 Highway Avenue, Highland, Indiana. Joanne will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, where she will be reunited with her beloved husband in their final resting place.
