

He is survived by his partner of 26 years, Gloria Norvell; his brother, Norman (late Diane) Mathews; his twin sister, Laura Mathews; his sisters, Louise (Joe) Kuzminski, Iris (Mike) Berry, and Georgia Mathews-Nuno (Jon Abatie); his nieces, Heather Garza, Aubrie Pilewski, Kate Brons, Rachel Nuno, Ashley O'Donnell, and Meaghan Berry; and his three grand-nieces, Madison Mathews, Arya Rouhselang, and Haylee Brons.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Virginia Mathews; and his sister-in-law, Diane Mathews.
Kevin was a former journeyman for the Chicago Tribune and the Sun-Times, and more recently worked as a bus driver for Kickert Bus Company. He was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears and loved watching old war movies. Kevin had a passion for collecting and painting miniature toy soldiers and enjoyed setting up detailed battle scenes. He also often attended war reenactments. He loved to visit Custer's Battlefield in Montana and the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Kevin enjoyed deer hunting and would go every fall in Michigan and Wisconsin. Known as a great storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor, Kevin brought laughter to those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
