Larry Donald Slater

Larry was a beloved father, stepfather, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his daughter, Alycia (Ron) Wiggins; stepchildren, Brian (Tonya) DuMonte and Erica DuMonte;Sister Shirley Ewert; grandchildren, Hunter and Logan; step-grandchildren, Trey and Brinlee; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judith Slater (nee Held); second wife, Diane DuMonte-Slater; and his parents, Lauren and Agnes Slater.

Larry dedicated many years of service at Praxair, retiring as a superintendent. He was also a proud 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army, serving for four years. Larry enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including fishing, camping, and spending quality time with his family.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN 46322. A funeral service will follow from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, with a committal service at 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM at an external service location, 8178 S Cline Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307.

Larry will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
