Laurence Scheeringa

Laurence Scheeringa, age 82, of St. John, passed away July 14, 2010. He is survived by his wife: Gert of 61 years; three daughters: Bonnie(Jim) Winters of Wheatfield, Indiana; Barb(Craig) Moore of St. John; Brenda(Tom) Medema of Highland; seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Jake and George and sisters: Sylvia, Gertrude, and Marie. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Community United Reformed Church, 8405 Alexander St., Schererville, Indiana, with Rev. Paul Ipema, officiating. Interment at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Lansing, Illinois. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, July 18, 2010 from 2-8 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd.( 2 blocks south of Ridge Rd.), Highland, Indiana. Mr. Scheeringa was a member of Community United Reformed Church in Schererville. He was a retired truck driver, having worked for Artim Transportation, Gary Transfer, and Bill’s Produce. Memorial contributions may be made to Community United Reformed Church.
