Leo C. Ramirez

Born on January 24th, 1926 in Donna, TX and passed away on January 30th, 2016 in Munster, IN. He was blessed with 90 years of life.

Preceded in death by his Mother, Maria Cruz Ramirez; his father Ignacio Ramirez; his brothers Vicente Ramirez & Remigio Ramirez. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ramirez; his brother, Crispin Ramirez; his sister, Celia Brown Benavides; his daughter, Maria Gloria Perez nee Ramirez; three granddaughters, five grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Private First Class Leonel Ramirez served Active Duty in the United Starts Army from September 21st, 1950 to September 5th, 1952; he then transferred to the Army Reserve on September 6th, 1952.

He was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal for his service in Japan; the United Nations Service medal & the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star for his service in Korea. He was Honorably Discharged on January 20th, 1953.

He was a loving husband, father, & grandfather who will be greatly missed and has left a very large void in all who know and love him.
