Lita M. Kersten Thinnes

LITA M. THINNES (NEE KERSTEN) HIGHLAND, IN Lita M. Thinnes (nee Kersten), age 92, of Highland, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Thinnes of Highland, IN; brother, Alvin Kersten of Mountain Home, AK; sister, Johanna Frayer of Libertyville, IL; sister-in-law, Peggy (Herb) Seaquist of St. Louis Park, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Lita was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bud" Thinnes; two brothers: Erich and Clarence Kersten; and two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Hansen and Marion Mau. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (Glory to God), 3711 Ridge Road, Highland, IN with Rev. David Trexler officiating. Interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Alsip, IL. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland. Mrs. Thinnes was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Highland. Lita loved her God, husband, daughter, family, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lita's loving memory to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
