Louis F. Anderson, age 82, of Hammond passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Louis is survived by fiancee Ruth Ann Smith his devoted and beloved companion and caregiver of 22 loving and wonderful years; daughters: Paula (Marty) Popagain, Lou Anne (Fred) Lowrance, Ramona (John) Griffith, son: Raymond (Jeannie) Anderson; stepson: Raymond (Emily) Smith; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; Aunt Marge Chikos (Rusnak). Louis was preceded in death by wife Margaret, son Louis R. and brother, Wayne. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12 at 9:30 AM DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Avenue, Hammond. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 3-8 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland. Lou was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. He worked at Black Oak Auto Parts with his dad who started the business in 1937. After his dad's passing in 1961 Lou took over what is now known as Anderson Auto Parts. Lou was a licensed pilot since 1952. He graduated from Horace Mann, was a member of R.O.T.C., and served in the National Guard. Memorials may be given to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
