Marianne Rusin (nee Schmidt), 85 of Chesterton IN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Formerly of Dolton, IL, Burnham, IL and Crown Point, IN, Marianne was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Florence Schmidt; and her devoted husband of 56 years, Jack Gerald Rusin.
She leaves behind her three children, Diana, Gerald and Brian; four grandchildren, Lydia, Rebecca, Alexandra Orlowski, and Lillian; and two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Athena Orlowski; as well as her sister, Dolores Carey. Marianne was a devoted Catholic and a woman of faith who will be greatly missed by all.
Private graveside service for family and close friends will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2026.
