Mary Ellen Masleid, MD

Mary Ellen Masleid, MD, age 64, of Merrillville, IN passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Patrick; one daughter, Emily (Christopher Halvorson) Peters, MD of Indianapolis, IN; four siblings: Michael (Janet) Masleid of Dyer, IN, Kathy Masleid of Homewood, IL, Robert (Christy) Masleid of Los Gatos, CA and Karen Masleid of Hammond, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents: Albert and Alice Masleid. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN with Rev. Edward Moszur officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family Monday, March 23, 2015 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home. Dr. Mary Ellen Masleid graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1983 and served her Residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. She was currently employed in Highland, IN, specializing in Internal Medicine. Mary Ellen served on the staff of St. Margaret-Mercy Healthcare in Dyer, Methodist Hospital Southlake Campus in Merrillville, St. Mary’s Medical Center in Hobart and Community Hospital in Munster.
