As the holidays get closer, (and I'll include Halloween here), I cannot help but be reminded that there will never again be that card with $5 in it to call and thank you for...that there will never again be a Christmas ornament attached to my present from you that you tell me not to break 100 times. There are days when I just want to call you and see how you're doing or go out for lunch like we always said we would, just you and me. I hope you are proud of me, Grandma. I never thought this holiday season would come without you to spend it with. I always kind of took for granted I had more years with you and obviously that was not the case. I look at your engagement ring on my finger every day and think of you. You were the first one to ever buy me a nice ring and now, you'll be the last one to give me one as meaningful. I know Heaven is more peaceful than Earth, but to even hear you yell at me one more time would be something better than the last words I have from you...I do love you Grandma, and you were right, I couldn't say it in that moment because it felt too much like goodbye. I hope that you truly knew that I did love you but showing it was not a quality I really learned until after you passed.

To the Schramm and Arroyo families, we're very sad to learn of Mary's passing.  You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

I know Charlie won't read this so if another family member would please let him know that Julie(from the Shamrock) sends my condolences. He spoke of Mary often and how he wouldn't be able to live without her. My heart goes out to you, Charlie and the rest of your family. Rest in Peace, Mrs. Schramm.

Oh Grandma.  I cannot express to you the peace that I hope you've found with God.  Earth is just a temporary home, and now you are with everyone you love who has gone before you.  Life is already a little different, but I am blessed to have had my Grandmother for 22 years.  

Please keep Daniel safe (he will need a guardian angel to be a Marine) and watch over your whole family.  

I love you Grandma, and you will be missed.
