Nancy Sue Dean Nokes was born at home in Cedarville, Ohio on September 23, 1935. She was the youngest of three siblings. She was active in school, 4-H and Church. She attended Taylor University in Indiana. After college she worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a secretary. While working there she met Staff Sargent Charles Nokes. They married on August 26, 1955. They moved to Indiana for work and had 5 children, Deborah, Melinda, Bob , Rick and Melissa. They were very active at church, helping found Suburban Bible Church in Highland, IN. Nancy taught Sunday school and worked as a teacher at the Kiddie College Preschool, where she was loved by all. She loved to bake and would shower everyone with gifts of handmade cookies at Christmas! Nancy also sang in the church choir, she loved sports, especially the CUBS, she got to see them win the World Series! She adored children and had 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who have known her. She has joined her husband Charles and friends and family that have gone on before her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, October 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at Suburban Bible Church, 3010 41st St., Highland, IN with Rev. Don Rector officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN.
