Nellie Louise Butler

Born in Ramsey, Nellie was a cherished member of her family and community.

She was a passionate bingo player and enjoyed visiting the casino with her friends. Most of all, she treasured the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger C. Butler, her parents, Homer and Virginia Rainey, as well as her in-laws Jay (Marian), Helene, and Bill, her sister Clara (Charles), her brother Gilbert (Megan); Nellie is survived by her devoted son, David (Audrey); her daughters, Carmela (Roger), Stacey, and Laura; and her grandchildren, Charles (Kristen), Tiffany (Ryan), Tabatha (Tyrone), Tara (KaRon), William, Antonio, Crystal, Stacy (Jarell), and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Gary, her sister, Ann. She also leaves behind eight brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.

Nellie’s warmth and love will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.

A visitation will be held in her honor on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN 46322. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, also at Kuiper Funeral Home. Following the service, a committal service will take place at 1:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens 8178 S. Cline Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307.
