He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Boyd; son, Dean P. Boyd; parents, Carl and Fern Brown; brothers, Donald Boyd, and Jim Boyd; and great-granddaughter, Khloe Cornelius.
He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Spencer (Bobby Spencer) of West Virginia, and Diane Hall of Valparaiso, IN; his brothers, Eugene (Melonie) Brown, and Butch (Kim) Boyd; his grandchildren, Michele (Mark) Smith, Joshua Boyd, Darren (Becca) Hehr, Anthony Palmer Molnar, and Samantha Hehr; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Palmer was a proud Marine, worked as a Millwright with Local 1043, and was an avid dirt track racer.
