Patricia U. Mier (nee Usher), age 89, of Highland, IN passed away Monday, April 25, 2016. She is survived by her two loving children: Sarah (Joseph) O’Connor and John (Rev. Joan) Mier; five grandchildren; Elizabeth, William, Sean, Eileen and Angela; two great granddaughters: Brianna and Isabelle; dear nieces, nephews and beloved cousins. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Joseph Mier in 2007. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN with Msgr. Joseph Semancik officiating. Interment will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. (time of service) at Kuiper Funeral Home. Patricia was a member of Tri-Kappa Sorority.
