Peggy was born on March 3, 1948 in East Chicago, Indiana to Rex and Alma Richards. She served as a social worker in Lake County, Indiana. Peggy is survived by her son, Jordan Taylor, and his spouse, Lindsay Steirer Taylor; their children, Emilia and Adaline Steirer; her sister, Terry Drummond; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John McCulloch; her parents; and two sisters, Betty Dye and Patsey Cole.
Peggy had a lifelong passion for books, often reading more than one hundred each year, and found equal joy in collecting Barbies and creating miniature houses. Over time, her collections grew to an impressive scale, with each miniature meticulously staged into distinct scenes and themes, reflecting her patience, creativity, and keen eye for detail — including one that faithfully replicated her own home. She also loved to travel, with Egypt holding a special place among her favorite destinations, and she took great pride in visiting all fifty states alongside her late husband. In later years, her travel was largely centered on visiting her grandchildren in New Jersey. During those visits, she delighted in sharing her love of toys and collectibles and in reading countless books to her grandchildren as they drifted off to sleep. These moments reflected her deep love of family and friends and her joyful spirit, all of whom fondly remember her holiday gatherings filled with laughter and Christmas carols.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal services. Following her passing, friends and family immediately gathered at her home for an informal, bring-your-own pizza remembrance — an expression of the warmth and simplicity she cherished. Peggy will be sorely missed, but she will live on in our memories.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.KuiperFH.com for the McCulloch family.
