Perikles Petras

Perikles Petras was born May 13, 1945, passed away August 12, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith Petras of 43 years. He is survived by 2 sons that live in Greece, John Petras, Steve Petras(sophie). Perry has 3 stepchildren surviving, Deborah Hedrick, Diana Gonzalez (Lalo), and Angela Troutwine. He had several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Very Special Greek friends Pete and Sophie Tjortjis and family. He was also preceded in death by his step children: Mary Hedden in 2011, Richard Williams in 2011 and Billy Williams in 2001.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 7021 Hohman Ave., Hammond, IN 46324. Fr. David Bissias officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (time of service) at the church.

Perry was born in Melissourgio Halkidikis Greece. His mothers name was Argyro Petras and he grew up in an orphanage. He served as a Greek sailor in the Greek Navy. Later emigrated to the USA to meet his beloved wife Eddie. Perry was the founder of Verona Pizza where he and Edith dedicated their life. Perry loved to play soccer when he was younger and loved to play backgammon. Perry spent the last 10 years of his life caring for his very ill wife and ultimately moved into Spring Mill to be with her. He stayed there until he entered into eternity, almost exactly one year to the day that the love of his life also went to be with the Lord. We love you Perry!
