Phyllis J. Wilson (nee Bence) age 76, of Highland, IN passed away Tuesday July 7, 2015. Phyllis is survived by son, David (Heather) Wilson of Griffith; daughters: Laurel (Bob) Roach of Highland and Janet Wilson of Hobart; five grandchildren: Lisa, Jimmy, Megan, David and A.J.; and brother James (Pat) Bence of Highland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell. Funeral services will be held Friday July 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland (two blocks south of Ridge Road) with Pastor Don Rector officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday July 9 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Phyllis attended Calvary Baptist Church in Highland. She loved to bowl and she was the treasurer of Welcome Wagon for over 20 years. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a Highland Band Booster, Highland Women's Club, and a member of the Griffith Eastern Star for over 50 years.
