Richard Michael Snopel

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sarah Snopel; daughters, Lorna (Kenny Riley) Downing, Angel (David) Callahan, Heather (Tom Puntillo) Murray-Cline and Kimberly (Juan) Brysky; grandchildren, Brock, Peyton, Brody and Toby; brother-in-law, Donald Schiller and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by his wife of 13 years, Geradyn Snopel; brother, Jerome Snopel; sister, Marcia Schiller and his canine companion, Annie.

Richard was born on August 5, 1948 in Hammond, IN to the late Frank and Joan Snopel and was a 1966 graduate of Thornton Fractional North High School. He proudly served our country in the US Navy. Richard retired from US Steel with 38 years of service. He was an avid dog lover, enjoyed camping, a good cigar and music and took great pride in his truck and Cadillac Escalade. He loved traveling with his family all over our great country visiting many amazing landmarks.

Richard was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home (9039 Kleinman Road Highland, IN) with Rev. Brian D. Chadwick officiating.

Following the service, a gathering of friends and family will take place until 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
