Born in Huntsville, Alabama, Robert moved to Illinois at a young age before eventually settling in Indiana, where he built a life centered around family, hard work, and his many passions.
A man of remarkable strength and determination, Robert was never one to shy away from a challenge. Whether it was restoring his cherished 1967 Gold GTO, meticulously crafting models, or running his upholstery business, he poured his heart into everything he did. His talent for reupholstering furniture was more than just a trade—it was a testament to his patience, precision, and craftsmanship. He also enjoyed playing cards, a pastime that reflected both his sharp mind and love for friendly competition.
Robert’s greatest pride, however, was his family. He shared 52 years of marriage with his devoted wife, Cheryl, and together they raised five children: Clint (Jeanette), Corey (Renee), Chad (Viorica), Carrie (Gabriel), and Colby (Darcy). His love extended to his nine grandchildren—Cecilia, Chasity, Paige, Collin, Kendyll, Alexis, Ramona, Sebastian, and Lucille—as well as his great-grandchild, Ailani. He also leaves behind his brother, Ricky (Lucky), his sister, Michelle (Jim), and many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Clint Lamb and Dorothy Todd, and his loving stepfather, Jim Todd.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Robert’s work ethic and resilience carried through his career as both a local pipefitter for Local 597 and the owner of R.C. Quality Upholstery. His legacy is one of strength, love, and unwavering dedication—values that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd., Highland, IN 46322.
