Ronald W. Austin

Ronald W. Austin, age 84, of Griffith, passed away March 26, 2011. He is survived by his five children: Roy(LaVaun) Austin of Oklahoma, Jay(Kathy) Austin of Illinois, Donna(Bruce) Wasko of Hobart, Warren(Debby) Austin of Arizona, and Mary(Roscoe) Austin of Minnesota, 12 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister: Gloria Schuyler of Georgia and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife: Ada, brother: Bruce; and granddaughter: Holly. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 9:30 AM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd.(2 blocks south of Ridge Rd.), Highland, Indiana, with Pastor Rob Lemon, officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, Indiana. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 4-8 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home. Ronald retired from the Ford Assembly Plant in 1988. He was a longtime member of the Griffith Baptist Church and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
