Sharon Lynn Mendez

Sharon was born on May 12th, 1952 in Chicago, IL to John and Edna Sikorcin. On October 8th, 1983, she married Joseph Mendez, Jr. They raised two sons, Justin and Chris, and one daughter, Brandy.

Sharon had a passion for being a full-time housewife as well as a full-time working mother. Sharon had a deep love for the game of bingo and was also an avid crocheter. Sharon combined her love for her two favorite hobbies in life by running various bingo halls for 20 plus years and gifting many people with handmade, one-of-kind crocheted blankets. Her blankets were much admired not only by friends and family, but also by all who frequented the homes where her blankets were displayed. She was known for her quick wit, smart-aleck remarks, and getting on her husband’s nerves.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, John, her mother, Edna, and her husband, Joseph. She is survived by her three children, Brandy, Justin, Christopher and her four grandchildren, Bradyn, Dalton “Jimmy,” Aden and baby Mila. Services will be held on Friday, July 29th, 2022 at Kuiper Funeral Home at 4:00 PM. Flowers or donations may be sent to 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN 46322.
