Sherman Lee Hopson

Sherman Lee Hopson, age 66, of Gary, IN passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Darla Faye Hopson; one son, Timothy J. Hopson of Arizona; three daughters: Liberty (Brian) Martinez, April (Ryan) Alexander and Kristy (Mike) Frederick; seven grandsons; two granddaughters; one brother, Randy (Tammy) Hopson; three sisters: Sue (Mark) Larson, Karen Hopson and Carol (Mark) Bohnett; three nieces; one nephew; and special cousin, Keith Black. Mr. Hopson was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Hopson; and parents: Albert and Jeanette Hopson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN with Pastor Randy Hopson officiating. Cremation will follow service. Friends are invited to meet with the family Thursday from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. (time of service) at Kuiper Funeral Home. Mr. Hopson retired from Arcelor-Mittal with 34 years of service and was a member of the Bricklayers Union. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was a lifetime member of Griffith V.F.W. Post #9982. Sherman was an avid reader and enjoyed watching Jeopardy.
