Shirley J. McFarland Fetla

Shirley J. Fetla (McFarland) age 86 of Griffith, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, October 11, 2015. She is survived by her son, Jeffery (Linda) Fetla of Griffith; daughters, Sharolynn (Gary) Eaton of Merrillville, Lynette (Greg) Dickens of Nevada; daughter–in-law, Joni Fetla of Illinois; sister Sharon (Chuck) Woods of Crown Point; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Johnnie and sons Floyd and Phillip.

Funeral service on Friday, October 16, at 9:30 AM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, October 15 from 2-7 PM.

Shirley was a hair stylist and owned her own salon in Griffith for over 40 years. She was an assistant on a special ed bus for Merrillville Community School for 8 years. She loved cooking, knitting, and crocheting, but most important was her family. Mom was loving, kind hearted, and generous. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
