Susan M. Frederick

Susan was born and raised in Joliet, IL. She attended St. Pat's Elementary School. She was a graduate of Joliet Central High School Class of 1978. She worked various jobs throughout her life. She worked at Steel City Bank as a bank teller, Croissant Yacht Club/Smugglers Cove as a cook, Citgo Gas Refinery in the drafting department and Ford Motor Company as an assembler.

Susan loved music of all genres. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and always cooked more food than could be eaten. She was an avid gardener and loved to plant flowers. She played pool and was on many teams, winning many trophies. She enjoyed spending time outside. She loved being by water whether it was lake, ocean or pool. She was a member of the Ravens Club in Joliet, IL.

She was preceded in death by her mother; Althea Hertko, grandson; Adam Dietz Jr., nephew; Sonny Southall.

She is survived by her father; Daniel Hertko; Ex-husband of 20 years Thomas Frederick; three children; Adam Dietz, Sarah (Tim) Lacko and Samantha Frederick; two step children Sheina and Erich Frederick; nine amazing grandchildren Jonathan, Adrianna, Kiara, Nevaeh, Ceniya, Mariah, Jackson, Allyscia and Amelianna; two brothers Tony and Joe Hertko and host of other relatives and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Services will be private for the family and close friends. She will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn and Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
