Virgene Elizabeth Dellenbach Balbo

VIRGENE E. BALBO (NEE DELLENBACH) HIGHLAND, IN Virgene E. (nee Dellenbach) Balbo, age 81 of Highland passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011. Virgene is survived by two sons: Vince (Karen) Balbo of Valparaiso and Chris (Alice) Balbo of Dyer; two daughters: Karen (Ron) Stein of Dyer and Kathy Balbo of Schererville; nine grandchildren: Bob (Melissa) Weinbrenner, Rebecca (Jason) Dyer, Lisa (Sebastian) Groszek, David (Julie) Stein, Michael (Dana) Stein, Adrian, Anthony, Madison and Olivia Balbo; nine great grandchildren; two brothers: Herbert (Rose) Dellenbach of Hammond and Elmer Dellenbach Jr. of Hammond; one sister, Ida Link of Hammond; and many nieces and nephews. Virgene was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 5, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road), Highland with Rev. Richard Orlinski officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, December 4, 2011 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Virgene was a lifelong member and volunteer at Our Lady of Grace Church in Highland. She was a caring, loving mother and a great example for her children, grandchildren, family and friends.
