Harry “Chubby” Kaleohano Borges, 87, of Hilo, Hawaii, passed away on July 27, 2025. He was born in Hawaii on February 16, 1938. He was a heavy equipment operator for Union Local 3. After retirement, he fed the homeless and elderly once every week for five years. He was also state president and founder of Hauoli Hoaloha Motorcycle Club. He was a Pastor for House of Angels Ministries Outreach for Homeless and Elderly.
Celebration of Life will be held at Panaewa Haili Tent-Hilo on Saturday October 11, 2025, from 10:30AM until pau.
Harry is survived by his wife Kuuipo Machado Borges of Hilo; his sons Harry “Guy” Borges Jr. of Honolulu, Eric (Stephanie) Borges of Maui, Lance (Luana) Borges of Maui, Bobby (Sharane) Gomes of Maui; his daughters Natasha (Kaleo) Borges-Apao of Honolulu, Michele (Dayna) Bellevou Ohelo of Oahu, Elizabeth (Eric) Bellevou Maniquis of California; his brothers Joseph Marques Jr. of Honolulu; his sisters Joann Marques of Honolulu, Karen Marques O’Rouke of Honolulu; his 26 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
