

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away at Hilo Life Care Center on December 3, 2025, at the age of 94. He was born in Wailuku, Maui, on March 29, 1931, and he was the 3rd of four children born to Shison Okuhama and Ushiya Kuniyoshi Okuhama. He grew up in Makawao and Kula and spent 3 years of his early childhood in Okinawa before the family moved back to Maui. He graduated from Maui High School.
Harold enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and was the retired owner of 42 years of Hilo Sheet Metal Inc. He is survived by his loving wife, Yoshiko; son Jason (Dawn) Okuhama; daughter Sandra Marsh; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and stepdaughters Michiyo Springer and Maitreyi Loo. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Ester Saplad Okuhama, son Kirk, daughters Christine Okuhama and Robyn (Edwin) De Coito.
A service will be held on January 30, 2026, at Ballard Family Mortuary Hilo from 4:00pm – 6:00pm. Visitation at 4:00 pm, service at 5:00pm, with refreshments to follow. Casual attire. No flowers please. An Internment will be held at The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific - Punchbowl in Honolulu at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 2, 2026.
