Kathleen Marie Shaw

Kathleen Marie Shaw, 76, passed away at 7:29 pm on July 13, 2026, at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. She was a well-known OB/Gyn at the Hilo Medical Center and Saint Mary’s Hospital/Clinic in Galesburg. Illinois for 40 years. She was loved by all as an amazing daughter, sister, mother, cousin, aunt and friend.

Services will begin 10am held on August 15th at Malia Puka O Kalani Church, 326 Desha Ave, Hilo, HI. Celebration of Life held at a later date.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Pestrella of Keaau; sister, Mary Anne Zeller of Iron River, MI; nephews, Mike Zeller of Iron River, MI, Steve (Kris) Zeller of Parker, CO, Eric (Stefanie) Passarelli of Naperville, IL; Nieces, Lynne Harris of Auora, IL, Sarah (Josh) Nodurft of Sneads Ferry, NC; Great Nephews, Silas Zeller, Ross (Julia) Passarelli, Brennan Passarelli, Fletcher Harris and Dylan (Savannah) Nodurft; Great nieces, Maddie Zeller, Marena (Brady) Griffin, Kelsey Passarelli, Skylar Stombres, Emma Harris, Eden Harris, Brylee (Asher) Willaford, and Kaelyn Nodurft.

She was born in the mainland, but Hawaii was always her home.

She loved the culture and the aloha way of life. She was a member of Malia Puka O Kalani Church most of her life. She loved a good game of scrabble or aggravation. The Beach or getting to see the ocean made a day better for her. Her love for quilting was always a must or singing at her church. She wouldn’t go without her laulau or Hawaiian plate. The thing she loved most was bringing new life into the world and being there for others.
