She worked as a secretary with Continental Airlines and Westinghouse, serving with the dependable care and conscientious attention that defined her throughout life. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Joesph Quan Hee Chun.
Maraea May is survived by her sons, Alfred (Helen) Chun of Hilo, HI, and Paul (Janine) Chun OF Perth Australia; and by her brother, Rodney (Pearl) Haili- Hilo, Hi. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at 522 Ponahawai Street, Hilo, HI 96720, from 9 am to 11 am. A committal service will be held at Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 522 Ponahawai St, Hilo, HI, on March 26, 2026, from 9:00am to 11:00pm. Burial will follow at Homelani Memeorial Park, 388 Ponahawai St at 12 noon.
