Solomon Panaewa Pakani, age 77, of Hilo, Hawaii, passed away on Thursday August 14, 2025 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. He was born in Hilo, Hawaii on November 13, 1947. He was a retired laundry supervisor at Life Care Center. He was also a retired U.S. Navy Veteran. Former partner of Kanna’s Catering.
Funeral services will be held on Friday September 12, 2025 at Ballard Family Mortuary Hilo Chapel (570 Kinoole St. Hilo, Hi 96720). Visitation from 9AM-10AM. Service from 10AM-11AM. Burial to follow at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery 2 (110 Laimana St. Hilo, Hi 96720).
Solomon is survived by his wife Lloydetta Pakani of Hilo, Hawaii; his sons Jacob (Destinee) Pakani of Hilo, Hawaii, Matthew (Natasha) Pakani of Hilo, Hawaii; his brothers William Pakani Jr. of Hilo, Hawaii, Russell-Wayne (Stephanie) Pakani of Hilo, Hawaii; his sister Hannah “Kuulei” Jenkins of Las Vegas, Nevada; and his 6 grandchildren.
