Trista-Lynn Kawena Ku’uleihiwahiwa Puahala, 17, of Hilo passed away on July 20th, 2026, at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children. She was a Waiakea High School Graduate class of 2026. A dedicated and spirited student-athlete, Trista-Lynn wrestled for Waiakea High School, and a valued teammate of the Waiakea Flag and Homestead Warriors Flag football teams. She will be remembered for her strength, determination, and the joy she brought to those around her.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday August 16th, 2026, at Ballard Family Mortuary, 570 Kinoole St. in Hilo. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with service to start from 10:30 a.m.-1p.m., allowing all who knew and loved her the opportunity to pay their respects. A Celebration of Life to follow at The Barn, located at 16-1772 34th Ave Keaau-Pahoa Hwy, in Keaau.
She is lovingly survived by her mother, Anela Puahala; brother, Trenten “Hilina’i” Puahala-Pinkney; grandparents, Ryan Puahala Sr., Theresa (Curtis Mamone) Gomes, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
