He was a member of Valleybrook Golf and Country Club for over 40 years and very proud of the fact that he shot his age multiple times. He had 8 holes in one in his lifetime. He loved traveling and when Donna was alive, they saw every state and numerous countries. They both were avid Lady Vols Basketball fans.
Alan was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Donna; his parents, James and Ofal Myers; and brother, Jim Myers.
He is survived by his children, Vicki (Mike) McSpadden, of Dayton, TN, and Mark (Kim) Myers, of Hixson; four grandchildren, Daniel (Coral) McSpadden, Jeff (Krista) McSpadden, Morgan Myers, and Haley (Kelly) Myers; 4 great grandchildren, Corbin Wallin, Maddy Harms, Ashton McSpadden, and Iris McSpadden.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 28, 2023, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org or your favorite charity.
