Born on July 25, 1939, in Knoxville, Anita was the daughter of Ashley and Suella Johnson. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—affectionately known as "GGM" or “Maw” by her great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Lynn Moore, and her parents.
Anita is survived by her children, Debbie (Roger) Freshour, Janet Moore (David Kelly), and John (Laurie) Moore; her grandchildren, Ashley McDowell, Tara Cofer, Bart Simpson, Adam Christian, Sam Moore, Lily Moore, and grand-dog Jack; and her eight cherished great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters, Cynthia Walker and Barbara Cates; and her nieces, Amber Mosler and Michelle Wright.
Anita was a faithful member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church and especially treasured the friendships and fellowship she shared with the ladies of the Choose Joy Sunday School Class.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hearth Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided during Anita's final days.
Anita's greatest joy was her family. She will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering devotion to those she loved, and the kindness she shared with everyone she met. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her.
Based on our mom’s request there will be a private family memorial. There will be no visitation or service.
