Bea was born in Northern Alabama and was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. She attended Middle Tennessee State College. Bea worked at Arnold Air Force Base for a longtime. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Bea was an active golfer and has had five hole in ones in her lifetime. She was a member of Chattanooga Golf and Country Club, Valleybrook Golf and Country Club where at one time she was the Women’s Golf Club Champion.
Bea was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Hayes.
Bea is survived by her son, James “Buddy” (Jenn) Hayes, II; grandson, Connor Hayes; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, May 25, and 11:30 am until 12:30 pm on Thursday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 12:30 pm on Thursday at the North Chapel. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
