Anthony Bacchi passed away Monday, 3 June 2024, at 101 years old. He was a loving husband to his wife, Phyllis, of 68 years as well as a loving father to Lawrence (Pam), Sandy (Lawrence), Raymond (LuAnn), Debra (William), and grandchildren Kelly, Barbara (Reed), Brittany (Travis), Meghan (Gopi), Aaron, Rachel (Russell), Jonathan, Allison and great grandchildren Lynn, Thomas, Evan and other extended family.
Having a passion for airplanes from his youth, he graduated in 1939 from Brooklyn Tech's Aviation Technology Program, the first aviation class of its kind, and would become part of the infancy of the Aerospace Industry. He served in the US Navy during WWII for two years as a Quarter Master and worked as a design engineer at Grumman and Republic for a total of forty years. He loved to play golf, was a ham radio operator, and built and flew model airplanes.
In lieu of flowers, my father would wish to support the “Caritas” charity at Alexian.

A visitation for Anthony will be held Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Alexian Village of Tennessee Retirement Community, 100 James Blvd, Signal Mountain, TN 37377. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 11:15 AM, 437 Alexian Way, Signal Mountain, TN 37377, celebrated by Father John Dowling. A committal service will occur Friday, June 14, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
