Barbara Jean Hart

Barbara Jean "Nanny" Hart, 82, went to her eternal home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus on February 18, 2025, she passed away peacefully at her home in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee. She was born on August 8, 1942, in Athens, Tennessee, to Arlie and Martha Lou Yarber.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arlie and Martha Lou Yarber and her brother Louie Yarber.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Kenneth Hart; her sons, Mitchell (Jeannine) Hart and Mike Hart; her grandchildren, Courtne (Jake) Wilhite, Travis (Kate) Hart, and Justin (Dee) Hart; and five great-grandchildren.

Barbara dedicated over 30 years of her life to teaching at Sequoyah Vocational High School. She had a deep passion for helping children and made a lasting impact on the many students she guided throughout her career. Her kindness and dedication extended beyond the classroom, as she was also a devoted member of Sequoyah Church of God in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee.

Barbara’s love for her family and dedication to helping others will be remembered by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, located at 5351 Highway 153 in Hixson, Tennessee. A graveside service will follow at the same location from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
